I used my new FireBoard with the Drive unit for the first time on Christmas day for a prime rib, and it was almost as easy as setting an oven temp and walking away. I have a Kamado Joe Classic II, and while it is inherently easy to maintain temps, it does take some tinkering depending on where I have it setup.

The ability to really geek out and send event shots and pics to friends is also easy and intuitive. The graphical interface is very helpful looking at rates of temp rise and future projections and all the times are recorded for later reference. I have tested the probes at 0 and 100 degrees C and they are spot on. It connects to my iPhone and iPad seamlessly and has a real iPad interface. I love the USB C cable and rechargeable battery. I literally had it going in a few minutes. It is easy to use with its intuitive set up and interface. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD WIN A DESIGN AWARD!!! It should be product of the year!!!ĭesign and quality are exceptional. It replaced a not old other device that was not performing well. Being a bit of a tech geek as many others are, I got the FB II and fan to help me with my Komodo Joe Cooking. Well, I rarely write reviews, but, I feel compelled to do so for this product. If you can afford this but are on the fence, don’t think twice. The other thing I LOVE is the ability to share the cook progression with friends, or just put it on a browser page – sometimes I keep it open on a laptop near me so I can monitor the cook and use my phone at the same time. On top of the device itself, the integration with the app is awesome – the app is really slick and works perfectly, but I would take half a star on this because some stuff just isn’t intuitive and took a bit of digging to learn everything, and I consider myself relatively tech-savvy.
